Kerala Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi Aims&Objectives

Kerala Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi
Temples were the main centers of religious and social activities in ancient times.  But due to the onslaught on Hindus by the aggressors, the baised land acts introduced by various governments and the negligence on the part of the Hindus, majority of the temples were ruined and the landed properties were alienated.  The destruction of the temples amounted to the destruction of our great culture.  This process affected Malabar region of Kerala in a very large scale.
Sri. K. Kelappaji who was known as the Kerala Gandhi, a brave freedom fighter, was grivet by this condition and he formed an organization for protecting the temples.  Thus Malabar Pradesh Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi was founded in1966 at the Vairagi Temple in Kozhikode.  This was registered in 1967 with register No. 41.  The Bhaktas of Malabar who wanted to strengthen this organization sought the help of Sangh and as a result the work was expanded throughout Kerala.  The late P. Madhavaji, P. Ramachandraji and present Sri. M. A. Krishnan took more role in the work and thus Kerala Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi (KKSS) was registered in 1977 under charitable Act with Reg: No. 142.
Madhavaji was very much attracted by the Thantram and Agamas on which the Pooja and the temple customs were based.  For years together he did research and meditated upon the inner meaning of the traditional beliefs and thus he formulated a system and a philosophy for the temple worship.  This was published by a book entitled “Kshethra Chaithanya Rahasyam”  which is now the philosophical basis of our work.
Aims and Objectives
The aim of KKSS is to make the society strong and organized on the basis of temple ‘agamas’ and a social life surrounding the temple.  So we encouraged the people to organize, making the temple as a centre and by casting away all class differences.
With that organized strength we can protect the temple as well as our ancient dharma.
 Programme  –  Samooharadhana
Every day the Hindus living around a temple should come to the temple before Deeparadhana and forming in two lines, they should repeat the Vandana slokams of devatas such as Guru, Ganapathy and Shiva, which is sung by any one person. Then they chant the Dhyan Slokam and Namajapam, and take three pradakshinams of the temple.  In the end they chant Santhi Mantram and Aikamatya Suktham of the Rigvedam.
 Mathapadasala
In every samithi there should be a mathapadasala to give religious teachings to the young generation.  The syllabus is for two years.  On its basis, study of the customs and beliefs, Pure bhakthi, Religious life, our Great Culture, Nationalise discipline, pride in our tradition and Hindutha are envisaged.
 Mathrusamithi

Our women can take up many creative steps to protect the temples.  They can influence and organize the entire women community, and play a main role in the day to day activities of the temple.
 Satsang

This is an inspiring programme conducted weekly once in each Temple/Samithi Sakha.  Satsanga will open door to our culture through pursuers, Bhakti-Stories, Bajans and Kirtans.  Speeches by distinguished scholars, Discussions, Archana, Parayana are the forms of  Satsangs.
 Seva

Samithi is doing different types of seva activities in order to kindle the meaning of human life – Nara seva Narayana Seva.  Blood donation, Scholarship for Students, Annadana, different types of pension etc. are some of save activities done by Kerala Kshethra Samrakshana Samithi.
Training Classes

Regular training, yearly and occasionally, for the workers of all levels are being conducted.  This enables them to conduct utsavams, religious congregations, Thirthadanam and Ramayana Masacharanam in a  good manner
